If you were any animal, what would you be and why? Barn swallow. Their maneuverability and agility at high speeds are just magnificent!
What athlete do you most admire and why? Hicham El Guerrouj. Anyone who can run a 3:43 mile is pretty awesome in my book.
What is your favorite meal that your mom fixes? Brisket, beans and bread. (The triple B!)
Describe your dream vacation. Forty days in Denali National Park with two other friends.
What would you like to accomplish this cross country season? State Champion.
If you were trying to convince someone to join the Tremont cross country team, what would you tell them? (From editor: This is where Parker gets wordy! Had to edit a bit.) Once upon a time, a man whose name was Joe Newton coached cross country. He led his teams to 26 state titles in class 2A over 52 years of coaching! This legendary coach once coached one outstanding athlete named Mike Lynn. This incredible man began coaching at Tremont High School and has built one of the most respected programs in central Illinois from the ground up. This may not sound comparable to Joe Newton, but what you don’t understand is that Joe Newton’s one and only goal was the state title. Mr. Lynn has other objectives in mind. Don’t misunderstand, he wants to win. But there is more to life than winning. Mr. Lynn believes that the growth of an individual as a whole is far more important than a piece of metal that hangs from a ribbon. Both of which are destroyed by moth and rust. You’ve heard the slogan, “What can Brown do for you?”, but I give you this challenge: “What can Lynn do for you?” You may be surprised.
Oh. . .And it’s just so stinkin’ fun!!
